I have had the priveledge of using one of the most professional SW DX logging programs on the planet. SWLog. It's a wonderfully written program, with ton's of support especially by it's users and authors. It's not like ScanCAT, but has lots of nice features. I would reccomend checking it out. Personally, I think it is very useful when it comes to DX. It may not be easy to use in the beginning or for the beginning SWL listener, but it will grow on you, as it did me. It has lots of advanced features, and I hope there are many more to come, including recording, and rig control, as well as broadcasting your radio on the internet, and radio control via the internet. Try it out! Let us know how you feel about it! After all it is one of the OLDEST logging programs out there!!! After at least 15 years, you think it would be good by now.
